Summer times

These are some photos of our recent family holiday down to northern NSW. We awoke at some ungodly hour on new years eve so we could be on the road by 4am headed down the coast. Our first stop was Byron Bay where we had a lovely big breakfast at Orion cafe (check it out if your ever in the area), after breaky we headed to the shops looking for various items eg, surfboards, one piece swim suits, clothes etc...mind you we didn't end up buying any of these. After spending most of the hottest part of the day in the nice airconditioned boutiques we heading down to Tallows for a surf and a frolick in the (rather cold) ocean.
We then picked up some essentials for breakfast the next morning and where on the road again - destination Mt Warning!!! Where we camped for the next two nights. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
On day two we packed our gear into the tent and headed back to the coast for the day...after getting lost at Tweed Heads we decided to go for another surf at Cabarita...stopping at every surf shop along the way of course.

After quite an interesting second night at the camp site...(more photos and expanation of this event to come)...it was time to start heading for home...with a stop off at Mt Warning first...we didn't climb the sucker this time due to cloud coverage and heat factors...

After a spot of opshopping in Murwillumbah and some lunch at Tweed Head bowls club it was time for our last surf of the trip at Coolangatta before we were officially on the road home.

Not the most surfable waves...Z had fun catching some white water though.

And it was officially time to go home...Z was cold and tired

an oldie but a goodie

I took this photo a few months ago now. It caught my eye when I was looking through my photo files today and I thought it was blog worthy. I love the way Zavia looks like he is in mid-sentence in his conversation with his daddy.

Christmas season is just around the corner

After stressing about whether or not to put Christmas decorations on our tree this year (with a one year old in the house) we decided to go ahead and decorate as usual and just teach Zavia "DONT TOUCH"!! While we were assembling the tree I looked into the play room and saw Z-mans ball pit sitting there and I had a sudden brain wave...why not decorate the tree with his ball-pit balls?!?!?!?! Here is the final product...not only has our tree never looked so bright and cheery, it is also 100% safe for Z-man. This of course still doesn't stop him from getting into the Christmas decorations cupboard and playing with the glass balls. hehehe! He also has a ball (pardon the pun) pulling the lower balls off and then throwing them back into the tree.

Farmer boy

Isn't my little guy the busiest you have ever seen?? He got so hot and sweaty so I thought he would be glad to stop work but instead, he screamed his head off when I 'made' him come inside...

About Me

My photo
I have been fascinated with the art of photography for as long as I can remember...I have dabbled in it for years but my 'obsession' didn't really take hold until the birth of my son, Zavia. I was so upset by the lack of good photos we had from his first few weeks of life that it has become my challenge ever since to take as many beautiful images of him as possible. I realised how important it was to capture all of those little moments that shoot past so quickly...and why stop at photographing Zavia when I obviously have a (I hate to use this word...but...) passion for photographing children and families. That's how 'Sprout Photography' was born. You can check out my website at Sproutphotography.com.au
