Meet Hosea

What better day to post about this sweet little Boy than fathers day. I caught up with Luke and Sarah a few days ago to capture this new little life. Today he is 8 days old. I hope you've had a wonderful first fathers day Luke.

The arrival of baby Joshua

I love seeing past clients come back as their beautiful families expand. I photographed little Jayden when he was first born almost 2 years ago and I was delighted to hear that Kahly and Dave were pregnant again and wanted me to capture this next chapter in their story.

For their maternity session this time, we agreed to go outdoors and met up at beautiful Point Perry in Coolum.

Welcome little baby Joshua. This little guy was so delightful.

Thank you Kahly, Dave, Jayden and Joshua. It was so great to see you all again. I'm looking forward to designing your coffee table style album.

Little Cove family

This is what I call a perfect photoshoot! Great weather, happy family, energetic little one year old, doteing big brother. Talk about a super chilled out Sunday evening session. Thank you family.

Three little ladies and their amazing mumma

These little girls are real troopers. They braved the rain and cold to get these amazing shots. The sky was almost as impressive as their attitudes. Thanks girls, for going along with everything I had in mind.

Siblings

Three brothers...and their wives/partners

Thanks team for dodging the rain with me on this beautiful Sunday afternoon.

Time to get up Vada Sage...

I dont like winter...I just dont! I find it hard to get warm, I'm unmotivated, I get a cold that generally lasts all winter...I just dont like it in general. I have however found one redeeming factor about this season...and that is, the warm snuggles I have with Vada (and sometimes Zavia) in the morning. Vadas first feed of the day is usually around 7am, so lately I've found myself getting her up and bringing her straight back into my bed. Sometimes when I'm really lucky I dont even have to get up to get her because Ben brings her in just before he leaves for work in the morning. Yesterday morning she had a big feed in my bed and just kept on sleeping. This allowed me to get up, get Z breakfast, clean him up and then have a shower and get myself ready for the day. When all of this was done I went back into her to see if she was stirring yet and luckily I had my camera in my hand because I managed to capture this serious of photos. They are in order of how I took them...

Still sleeping...

Just opening her little grumpy (I want to sleep) eyes...

What is that black thing in my face?...

I think that might be mummy...

It is mummy!!!...

Has a look out the window above her...

Then she threw both hands toward me and had a look on her face as if to say..."can you get me up now mum?"

I love my life!

tenderness

I learn something new from my kids almost every day...today it was how to be tender.
Anyone who knows my little boy, knows that he is a boysterous little two and a half year old pocket rocket. He loves to climb and jump and run and run and run...it's what comes naturally to him. What I sometimes forget is that gentleness and tenderness also comes naturally to him. I almost missed this moment today as I was changing lenses...I've never changed a lens so fast in all my life.

Firsts...

I can remember Zavias first shower like it was just yesterday. We had been to visit the health clinic for the usual weigh and check up from the health nurses and she suggested that Ben have a shower with Zavia that night to help with the father/son bonding. She explained that mums get alot of skin to skin contact with their newborns because of breast feeding and sometimes dads can feel left out because they dont get this same exposure. I was thrilled to find out that newborns are never too young for a nice shower. So that night when Ben came home I told him what the nurse had said and he jumped at the chance...they both loved it.
Last night was Vadas turn. She was a few days later than Zavia but she loved it just as much...she was alittle apprehensive at first and stayed tucked into daddys chest for quite a while but soon warmed up to the idea

Awesome Orson

I can't believe it's taken me 7 months to point my camera at this incredible child. Warwick and Ammi brought baby Orson into the world about a week before my morning sickness began and before I knew it my little Vada was in my arms and Orson was a big boy. Today however, the situation was rectified and we got some super cute shots of Orson and Ammi. We did have one small miss-hap when super speedy Orson launched himself off the side of the couch but like the true brave boy he is he got straight back on the horse (or couch) and conquered his fears... so impressive!
Hope you like the results of our very casual little shoot today Ammi.

About Me

My photo
I have been fascinated with the art of photography for as long as I can remember...I have dabbled in it for years but my 'obsession' didn't really take hold until the birth of my son, Zavia. I was so upset by the lack of good photos we had from his first few weeks of life that it has become my challenge ever since to take as many beautiful images of him as possible. I realised how important it was to capture all of those little moments that shoot past so quickly...and why stop at photographing Zavia when I obviously have a (I hate to use this word...but...) passion for photographing children and families. That's how 'Sprout Photography' was born. You can check out my website at Sproutphotography.com.au
